In Immanuel’s worship ministry, we believe that worship is our wholistic response to all that God is, says, and does. We want to worship authentically, make music excellently, inspire intentionally, and testify boldly, all to the glory of the Lord!
Immanuel Choir
If you are a passionate follower of Christ and have a desire to lead His church in worship, you’re invited to join the Immanuel Choir.
As a worship leader, you can encourage, teach, challenge, and inspire countless people through the power of song.
Make a difference in the lives of others while building personal relationships that will last a lifetime. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Choir Room.
Children’s Choirs
Children’s Choirs is designed to teach your child about the love of Jesus through music education. Your child will assist in leading worship during Sundays and special services throughout the year. (1st-6th grade)
Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 7:15 pm in D112.
Immanuel Orchestra
Comprised of strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion, the Immanuel Orchestra leads worship on Sunday mornings. To join the orchestra, you must have advanced instrumental and music reading skill.
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Worship Center.
Media Department
The Immanuel Media Department uses sound, video, lighting, and graphics to enhance the worship services at Immanuel. If you have a heart for service and a desire to learn, we will help you develop your skills to lead worship through technology.

Dr. Joseph Bolin
Worship Minister
About Joseph
Over the past 20 years, Joseph Bolin’s career has spanned a broad cross-section of performance, music education, professional conducting, and church worship ministry. After pursuing an early career in opera, in which he studied and performed throughout the United States and abroad, Joseph embraced the Lord’s leading into full time worship ministry, a vocation he has actively pursued for the past 20 years. As a full-time worship pastor, Joseph has lead worship ministries of hundreds in several influential churches spanning a variety of worship styles and cultures dynamics. In addition to his vocation as a worship pastor, Joseph received his DMA in choral conducting in 2013. That same year, he joined the faculty of the University of Texas Butler School of Music, serving as Associate Director of Choral Studies where he taught voice and conducted the University of Texas Concert Chorale. In 2016, Dr. Bolin accepted the position of Dean of the Collinsworth School of Music at California Baptist University where he leads a school of over 400 music students and 60 faculty. With undergraduate and graduate programs in performance, composition, music education, and worship studies, the School of Music at CBU features 22 major vocal and instrumental ensembles, performing more than 200 concerts annually throughout the US. In January of 2019, Dr. Bolin became the Worship Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church where he leads a team of gifted artists in the mission of facilitating authentic, passionate, and excellent worship during weekend services.

About Justin
My Name is Justin McWhorter and this summer I will have been married to my wife, Jaime for 20 years! We have three super talented kids, Kameron (19), Logan (16) and Kyleigh (14). I have been in full-time ministry since 2004. I have heart for worship and love to be involved in all the details that come together to usher our church family into the presence of the Almighty. I like to golf and love to fish. When I’m not at work or with my family, you’ll find me sipping a Dr. Pepper on a vessel out in the Pacific.

About David
I’m David Toledo and I’ve been married to Lindsey since 2004, and we have four kids: Will, Ellery, Ethan, and Kate. In addition to serving at Immanuel in the Worship Ministry, I’m the Associate Dean of the School of Music at CBU. I grew up in Louisiana, spent the first twenty years of my adult life in Texas, and now I’m happy to live here in Southern California. I love my Lord, my family, my church, and my school. I’m so excited about what God is doing in our church and can’t to see what happens in the future!
